The love of music, the feelings it conveys & it's ability to heal - these are just some of the ingredients of the musical birth of Maria Bentley. Born in West Africa, first her love of art and music were heavily influenced at an early age by world artists such as Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, Angelique Kidjo & Sade Adu.
Her form of musical expression, started out as just thoughts written down on paper. As her love for sound & harmonies grew, she wrote music solely for herself, often times as a way of escape. The personal tone of her music and songwriting lends itself to the subjective poetry of the artist now known as Maria Bentley.

Maria Bentley's music can be described as a soulful exploration of Breakbeat, Pop, HipHop, Jazz and Funk. Having worked with several upcoming producers and penning a catalogue of songs, her first single "Don't Wanna Talk" produced by renown Denver producer "Boonie Mayfield" was released in 2008, gaining her a solid following.
The singer and songwriter is currently writing and co-producing her EP and plans to share much of her music with as many that are, or soon to be, true lovers of music.
